From railroad town to textile center to Race City, USA - through years of change Mooresville has kept a strong sense of its past.  Founded in the 1850s, Mooresville has preserved a number of historic buildings, especially found in the downtown area.  Serious shopping, dining and amenities can be found along "Exit 36".

Due to many factors including moderate weather, the close proximity to Charlotte, easy access to the mountains and the beaches, and a diverse thriving industry base, Mooresville has grown from around 18,000 people to over 30,000 predicted in 2008.
